Bio

Julie arrived in Los Angeles in May 2014. In her previous home of Chicago, Julie was a founding member of comedy collective Cor Res Theatre, specializing in writing original plays through improvisation. Julie appeared in Cor Res productions as a writer (Quirky Best Friend, Imaginary), actor (Sex Work), and director (Armageddon Pie, Gastrong! The Musical). Julie also directed an original musical (Trust and Confidence: A Secret Service Musical) at the Annoyance Theatre in 2013.

While in Chicago, Julie studied improvisation, writing, and directing at iO Chicago and the Annoyance Theatre. She performed and coached long form improv with One Group Mind, and is the former artistic director of the DePaul University branch of The Titanic Players improv company. She was an ensemble member of the Public House Theatre and Idle Muse Theatre Company, and stage managed and assistant directed with the latter.

Julie (a native Minnesotan) got her start as a director at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), where she studied theatre and drama, and directed her first full-length play (Asymmetry). While at Madison, she discovered long form improv when she became a founding member of the Wisconsin branch of The Titanic Players. Her team, The Founders, developed a following on campus in the span of four years, and began training future improvisers and coaches, who continue to perform and teach on campus.
